A: Start with your heart.

First, the heart of practice.

In this world, everything is created, no cause and effect. There must be cause and effect in the practice of spiritual practice. Therefore, the main point of spiritual practice is to clearly create the cause and effect of “cultivation.” The first step is to be motivated. Without motivation, there is no motivation to practice.

In terms of the structure of the heart, there are reasons, motivations, goals, actions, and actions. And the mind will continue to repeat these steps along with the practice, constantly and firmly.

Reason: Different people learn Buddhism for different reasons. There are differences between being tired of the world, fearing, asking for wealth, seeking longevity, asking for supernatural power, asking for wisdom, asking for blessing, and so on. Here, different intentions lead to different results. Therefore, the purpose of spiritual practice is particularly important. Usually, I agree with the pursuit of wisdom, solution, and freedom. Because this ambition corresponds to the Three Treasures, the merits of spiritual practice tend to converge towards the Buddha.

Goal setting: This is when you have a clear understanding of Buddhism, and you fully believe that you can practice and get a certificate, you have a goal to prove a goal with practice. This is the most basic part of ambition . Without a goal, there is no direction. Different people and different periods of practice can set different goals. But the goal should be simple and clear, and you firmly believe that you can achieve the goal through practice.

As for the determination of the goal, it can be practiced to “a certain meditation”, it can be “attempt to reach the absent mind”, it can be “I want to enter nirvana”, it can also be an attempt to “experience a certain verse” and so on. This kind of ambition must be very interested in achieving this goal, full of confidence, determination and conscious ability to achieve this goal. Interest is very important, Einstein said that interest is the best teacher.

When interest is strong enough, everything around us will turn around, and miracles will happen! We always enjoy the things we are interested in and we always make achievements! So, set a goal and get yourself interested in reaching it.

Putting it into action: As mentioned earlier, after setting a goal, there should be a set of action plans to achieve the goal. I have been on the Internet for N years, and my classmates who have seen too much Buddhism do n’t know how to act, hoping to find a teacher outside, or do their own blind practice. But it’s always halfway. Therefore, how to act is indeed an experience and technology.

For the action, we need to break down the structure of action and targets and fit, he can develop a solid plan of action lines.

From the action itself, it can be divided into “body action, mind action”. From the state of action, it can be divided into “actions during special training, actions in daily work, actions during sleep and rest”. We should formulate specific response plans for different types and different states of these actions around the goals to be achieved.

The action plan can be said to be our selection and application of the practice method. For example, for the goal of “solving off”, the plan can be: “Acting: No prostitution, no makeup, no eating, etc.”, “Mind behavior: No prostitution, bad beauty, bad food, etc.” “Ding, Xiuhui, etc.”, “In daily work: hold the five precepts, hold the body precepts, heart precepts, etc.”, “when sleeping and resting: hold bright and wait”. The above is a plan for action. There is no time limit for those who have strong confidence and can practice according to their actions for a long time. If you believe in a bodhisattva, you can do your best in the future. If you are not confident, you can vomit a time period of spiritual practice, such as 7 days, or an N multiple of 7 days as the period, and add a votive period. Within this time period, vowed you must do it. This is a process of weaving the inner “dam” with the heart. This “dike” is “jie”, and the establishment of “dikes” is “jie body”. This is very, very important. Everything starts from here. Without this, spiritual practice cannot be talked about. Remember, spiritual practice is to establish bodhicitta in your heart, and then change your body and mind.

 Question: I usually read the works of Master Sheng Yan, a deceased monk in Taiwan. Are these books helpful to practice?

Answer: His book doesn’t understand. Recommended to read the Buddhist scriptures.

 Question: Your recommended “Dinghui Road” is already under review. The method is very detailed. Thank you for your recommendation.

After reading it, there is a problem: I am too rough-hearted, I cannot feel the breath in people, and it is a bit of a blow to confidence

Answer: Practice a lot. The breathing phase is hot and cold, thick, short and smooth. Either a pair of views can be used. When you are rough-hearted, you can look at the long and short phases, and when you are attentive, you can look at other phases. Practice more and you will find a way.

The sensations of hotness, coldness, numbness, swelling, itching, becoming larger and smaller, rotation, etc. are most of the initial meditations (it hasn’t been for a long time), and my heart hints that these feelings will be aggravated. Fifth, to start a family after understanding is that in terms of the difficulty of practice, too many people are involved in failing to become a family, and the facts of practice are difficult. After getting into the family, he retired but he could not lose his body. He died because of his strong merit.

The fact is that once you have a child, the child has to eat, read, and grow up. You also have to spend time managing and educating the child, otherwise what to do if the child fails to learn. In order to support your family, you have to worry about making money all day, because money will not find you by yourself, and your heart will never be settled again, because your heart is always concerned about work, children and family. Working, raising a family and raising children are like being forced into debt, and there are so many worries. How do you get settled?

2 .—– Although I retire, I can protect my body. I died because of a strong merit town?

I don’t know what you mean by “strong merit”, how can you “keep yourself safe”?

Does this “strengthening merit” refer to the “supernatural power” obtained through habituation?

Will this “strong merit” not retreat?

Answer: After I said Go, I realized at least “no self”. Because he has no self, he has a strong merit, and he will not commit the felony sin in life, and death will be clear. Eventually he will return to heaven and escape. Therefore, when all difficulties are eliminated (that is, temporarily leaving the adversity, such as marrying a family, etc.), the first purpose is to focus on obtaining the certificate of selflessness.

Answer: It is wrong to study Dharma by philosophy. It is a measure and cannot fit into nature. Because it’s “unbelievable.”

Idealism and materialism, from the perspective of the Dharma, are not contradictory but unified. Because “the mind and matter are one dollar.”

Buddhism refers to the element that is one element, which is also called the heart. For example, sincerity, trueness, such as Lai Zang, nature, nature, law body, nirvana, a true law world, and so on.

This mind is not real and needs to be agreed without gain. But if you have a desire, you must not win. The so-called door without doors means that.

Dharma research should use mind and body as tools, classics as manuals, and practice as verification. Only when you enter the Dharma, you can truly understand. Otherwise, it is all evil and evil!

Q: What do beginners learn?

Answer: Beginners start with Wen Si and motives. Read the Buddhist scriptures, download a Buddhist dictionary and read slowly . For practice, start with the entry.

 

Question: Master, I would like to ask, is the chanting a certain number of times? Can I decide the number of times myself? Also, should n’t the chanting be the same every day? Can I take turns?

A: Now that you have a chanting of your heart, you can set a homework schedule. You can set the times and times yourself. On the one hand, you can do precepts (with precepts and cultivation, and increase your merits).

Answer: Non-Dharma practice questions will not be answered. Things in life, but ask yourself “conscience”, follow the good, and do no evil.

On the contrary, I think you quote Professor Fu Peirong’s so-called affinism, which has practical significance.

Answer: I don’t understand philosophy. Buddhism speaks in response to illness, that is to say, whatever sentient beings are sick, justification is given. Therefore, there are times when “reasonable, unaffected, unaffected, unaffected.” In the end, Buddhism was gone, it was all a joke. Only everything is fine.
